Happy Friday Eve!
This week has been a whirl wind and I feel like I've been flustered for 80% of it. I don't know what my problem is, but I haven't been able to get a grip on what day it is, what my schedule looks like and just time management in general this week. I feel like my to do list is a mile long and I'll work on one thing for a little, move to another, and not finish anything! Anyone else ever get in a rut like this? Ahh.. maybe next week will be better. On another note, the crib came in for the nursery yesterday and it's beautiful! It was so sweet seeing it in the nursery, and it made it just a little bit more real that we'll be a family of 3 come September (oh so exciting!).
So who's ready for the weekend?! We have a fun weekend planned with friends, music, the lake.. what's better than that?? We've been going non-stop the last few weekends and it's going to be so nice to relax with friends for a few days!
I shot this look a few weeks ago, and it's safe to say I no longer fit in this pair of jeans, or any of my jeans, for that matter. I'm officially in maternity jeans these days. I avoided the maternity jean for as long as I could, and I have no idea why because omg - GAME CHANGER. (this pair and this pair are my current favorites!) Those things are so comfortable, I may never go back to non-maternity jeans! Kidding.. but they make a huge difference when your bump starts to grow. Little babe is growing so fast and I feel him/her dancing around quite a bit now! I've also recently learned that he/she likes music, and dances around when I play it. Baby Comer prefers Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band, etc. as opposed to my occasional urge to listen to rap music. Seems like he/she has good taste in music just like daddy! :) [More baby details to come - I am currently working on my 20 week bumpdate and it's taking a little longer than I originally intended. So much info and wanted to be detailed for y'all that are interested in reading!]
So back to these jeans. Levi's are most likely my favorite denim brand these days. I've always had issues finding a good pair of jeans that fit my long, lanky legs and waist, and they never fail me. I also love that they have so many sizing options, lengths, waist heights, etc. If you want to read more about my Levi obsession, I went on and on in this post about this same pair of jeans.
I love a good classic white collared shirt, and I think you need to have at least 1 or 2 in your closet no matter what profession or stage of life you're in (see my post on workwear tips/tricks here). It's an important staple to have that can be dressed up for work or church, but it can also be paired with denim jeans or shorts for a more casual weekend look. White is also always a safe color that you can make work for almost any occasion. It's simple enough for more formal environments, yet you can dress it up with what you pair it with and a few pieces of jewelry. I am obsessed with this white top, which is my newest Madewell addition to my closet (big Madewell fan over here). Funny story - my photographer actually went home and ordered this top after we shot this look because she liked it so much.
I've been doing my best to find pieces that work for my girls that are pregnant, but also still work if you're not (aka non-maternity pieces). If you know me, you know I shop quite often (I am a fashion blogger, after all), but I'm not really into buying too many pieces that will only work for a few months and then be put in the back of my closet until needed again. To be honest, quite a bit of my closet will work for the majority of my pregnancy, considering I already wore looser fitting pieces anyway. Shift dresses, flowy tops and tight dresses with kimonos or a light sweater have been my go-to lately. I also have this pair of maternity leggings that have been amazing and so easy to throw on with a top and sneakers for my casual, stay at home/run errands days. I think you really have to find what you're comfortable in when you're pregnant, because everyone prefers something different. I am also working on a blog post about the maternity products I've been loving and which have been so helpful to me thus far. Stay tuned and let me know if you have any questions about anything in particular!
I hope y'all have the best, most refreshing weekend and recharge for a great start next week :)
XOXO MEGAN KRISTINE.
