If you know me or have ever known me, you probably know I have an obsession with a good arm party. I've been known to maybe over do it when it comes to bracelet stacks, but in my opinion, that's just not possible. I love layering different colored and textured bracelets and creating the perfect combination that goes with my outfit and adds the perfect touch.
One of the bracelet companies I've been consistently obsessed with over the years is LILY and LAURA. I'm honestly not sure when I purchased my first bracelet, but it was probably around 8 years ago or so - and I was hooked. I would buy 3 here and 3 there.. and the more I had, the more I wanted. I would always pick a few up when I checked out at my favorite boutiques in college, and my mother would always pick a few up for me whenever she saw them (and she still does.. she's the best).
One day I was in a Christian bookstore with my mom and noticed they had a giant bowl of these bracelets and a little story board set up next to the bowl. I was pleasantly surprised with what I read on that sign, but I had been buying these bracelets for years without even knowing what they stood for.
Each one of these beautiful beaded bracelets is handmade by women in Nepal, who are then paid more than fair trade in wages in order to help them improve their quality of life. They are artists, and each of their bracelets is unique. Knowing that I'm supporting such a great mission makes me love these bracelets even more. You can read more about the company's inspiring story HERE.
