I hope everyone is having a fabulous week so far. Work has been busy for me, so I'm hoping the week will fly by.
Life Update: Last weekend, my sister and her fiancé came to town for a visit and we spent the weekend wedding planning. We went to her catering tasting and it was literally like a feast, which was a little bit of a surprise to all of us. I think we were all expecting just a little taste of everything.. but they prepared family sized meals of each option. Every single dish was so delicious and we all left happy and in a food coma (most of us napped on the ride home.. oops). Sunday was my little brother's 20th birthday (literally can't believe he's so old..), so we spent the day celebrating him before my sister and her fiancé had to head back home. It was so fun to have everyone in one place for the whole weekend - my heart is still so full!
*So let me just preface this post by saying that it was storming when we shot this look. Luckily, we were under a covered area, but please excuse my frizzy/flat hair - haha. I actually woke up that morning having a great hair day and I was super excited about shooting with my photographer, Angie. We showed up and started to shoot and it literally started pouring rain! It was so humid and nasty.. but thankfully she's amazing at what she does and we were able to still get a few decent shots.*
On a more positive note, how stunning is this Hieleven handbag? When I came home to this package sitting on my doorstep one day after work, my day was MADE. Not only is it beautiful, but it's such great quality. It's the perfect size to use as an every day bag and I just love the unique "flap closure" in place of a zipper or snap. This bag comes in a smaller version, and has 4 color options, including this new "khaki" color that Hieleven recently launched for summer. I've also been eyeing this bucket bag in blush pink.. so pretty! I was pleasantly surprised with the great price points they have all of their bags listed for - the one featured here is under $100!!
So, let's talk denim. I've had this pair of jeans for going on 5 years or so now.. and they are still probably my favorite pair. I feel like they used to be darker, but they've faded into the perfect shade. I love 7 For All Mankind jeans because, clearly, they last forever!
This top was actually an impulse buy that turned out to be such a great decision (I do this quite a bit if you don't know me). I bought it last minute a few weeks ago for a blogger dinner I was headed to and it has also turned into a favorite. It's super light and flowy, and since it's black it's so easy to mix and match with almost whatever I feel like wearing that day. I honestly think all of the pieces in this look are some of my favorite staples, as of late.
I hope you all enjoy the rest of your week. I'm super excited that we're finally getting a little sunshine here in DFW after the last few gloomy days. Maybe one of these days I'll actually have time to enjoy it poolside.. this girl needs a tan!
