Happy Tuesday, guys!
It feels that I've been totally MIA from the blog lately, and I'm sorry. Life is getting a little hectic around here preparing for Baby C, and I think I'm already starting this whole "nesting" thing you hear everyone talk about. I just want the house to be perfect for us to bring home our little baby to. I know it won't be perfect, but I would like it to feel good, at least to us. Annddd if that is going to be the case, I have SO much left to do in the next 2-3 months. I shared on my Instagram stories this morning a "nursery update" because I've received quite a few requests for one, but I did so a little jokingly because the room is still under construction and a total disaster. Hopefully the construction will be complete at the beginning of next week and we can start actually decorating/getting the room together. Luckily, we have everything picked out and ordered, or it's already here, so it should come together nicely once that's finished. I will be doing a nursery reveal on the blog in either September or October sharing all the details, so stay tuned! :)
On another note, I have been asked countless times throughout my pregnancy if I still drink coffee. And the answer is yes, I do. I gave up caffeine cold turkey when I found out I was pregnant, and I didn't start drinking coffee again until about 18 weeks. I spoke with my doctor about having headaches, and she said that I was allowed 200 mg of caffeine per day, and that it is perfectly fine to drink a cup of coffee. As always, you should definitely check with your doctor, because every pregnancy is different, but in most cases it should be perfectly fine. But don't be surprised by the stares and judgmental looks you'll receive once you start really showing. And I've noticed them more from older men than anyone.. haha
So what's your office dress code like? Some companies require business casual, some don't even have dress codes... hello yoga pants! And if it's allowed and you want to wear yoga pants to work, you do you girl! But in all seriousness, I really do believe the way you dress and feel affects the way you perform. Working from home can be a struggle at times, because it would be so easy to stay in my sweats/pj's most days. But if I did that, I don't know if I would get much done. I talked a little more in depth about this in this blog post here. My parents have always told me that you always want to look your best, and that it's better to be overdressed than underdressed. There is nothing more uncomfortable than being underdressed, I swear. It has happened to me before and I swore right then and there to never let it happen again. This doesn't mean you have to be wearing the most expensive outfit, just be presentable and make sure you feel confident. With that being said, it's important to know your boundaries and what is expected from you in terms of attire. If your office does allow you to wear denim, you can still dress it up and always look put together.
If you've read the blog for any amount of time, I'm sure you've heard me rant and rave about how much I love a good blazer. But I'll say it again. Because they are one of my favorite staples for sure. You can add a blazer over almost any outfit and it takes it up a notch. This one is only $35 and great quality for that price, in my opinion! What's your favorite office attire staple?
